About Me
Kelly Allegra was elected New Windsor Town Clerk in November 2019. As Town Clerk, she prides herself on the quality of services her office delivers to residents and businesses by providing assistance with licenses, permits, and vital statistics.
Kelly also works closely with funeral homes and families to provide professional and respectful burial arrangements at the town owned Woodlawn Cemetery.
As Town Clerk, Kelly earned recognition for keeping her office fully operational during the Covid-19 pandemic. Kelly’s leadership during those trying times will be remembered by many families throughout not only the New Windsor community, but communities across several counties. Kelly prioritized the people she is elected to serve, and cleverly operated out of a window allowing residents to receive essential services and advance their everyday lives.
Dedicated Service
Kelly also dedicated her efforts in scheduling Covid-19 vaccination appointments for hundreds of New Windsor seniors, distributing Covid-19 rapid home test kits and coordinating with Orange County Board of Health to provide free drive thru rabies vaccination clinics to keep our community safe.
Kelly is accessible and responsive to all residents and is focused on advancing an open, transparent and modern town clerk’s office. She is accomplishing this by updating online and workplace digital tools, online contract bid & proposal information availability, live streaming bid openings, digitizing cemetery records, launching the first website for the Woodlawn Cemetery and providing online access to licenses, permits and essential information.
Community Initiatives
Kelly helped to bring some additional initiatives to the town including the dog park, the annual Howl-O-Ween dog custom parade, collecting donations for the local humane society and an annual holiday Toys for Tots collection.
Over the years, Kelly’s community involvements are distinguished by her service in a number of organizations including as: Board member of Independent Living Inc, Chair of Government Relations MS Society, Board member of Orange County MS Walk, Family Selection Committee member for Habitat for Humanity, Cornwall Parent Teacher Organization Treasurer, and Founder and Administrator of the Cornwall Lego League.
Kelly has instilled the value of community service to her daughter. Together they serve the community by distributing food at local pantries, honoring our fallen veterans by placing flags and wreaths at local cemeteries, volunteering at a local assist living facility and supporting New Windsor American Legion Events.

Kelly is proud to be a committee member and active participant in a number of Town of New Windsor events.
As Town Clerk, Kelly’s current professional memberships include the New York State Town Clerks Association, Orange & Sullivan County Town Clerks Association and New York Association of Local Government Record Officers
Kelly is a graduate of Manhattan College in Riverdale New York. She has also earned a professional education from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado and is a graduate of the 2007 class of Leadership Orange.
Legacy
Kelly is a resident of New Windsor for twenty years. She is married to her husband Benedetto for 24 years and is the mother of a wonderful daughter Gabriella.
Kelly is abundantly grateful for the opportunity to serve the New Windsor community and appreciates the profound trust placed with her and her team.
